DAILY and/or WEEKLY CARE For: Chlorine - Use Chlorine Test Strips
1. Add approx. ¼ oz of SoftCare Chlor. per 140 gallons at least every other day. 1/3 oz for a T-220 and ½ oz for a T-300. You MUST maintain a minimum level of 3-5 parts of per million of sanitizer at all times. SoftCare Chlor is made especially for a Softub. Using any other brand of Chlorine may seriously damage your Softub. Not all chlorines are alike. You must use only a chlorine that is no more than 55% available such as SoftCare Chlor. Check no less than every 3 days and adjust amount of chlorine based on the color of the test strip (Color will go from dark purple first day to pink every few days. Never get in a tub that the chlorine level is less than 2 ppm. It should be at least a pink color on the test strip. NOTE! If water looks cloudy, or is slippery or water smells like chemicals (even though test strip shows low chlorine you must add 2 times the amount of normal dose of Chlor. to raise ppm. If you plan to leave home for 14 days or longer, you should drain your Softub. With low Chlorine levels, pH can get off and damage your liner. If 14 days or less, leave motor plugged in, ok to lower temperature some. When you get back from trip, check all levels and adjust as necessary.
